How do I get the ITVX on my TV?
Android TV: If you have a compatible smart TV or streaming player powered by Google’s Android TV OS, ITVX should be available. If you have the older ITV Hub app on your Android TV, visit the Play Store, navigate to My Apps, find ITVX under the ‘Updates available’ section, and click Update.

Why is ITV not on Freeview?
ITV Hub, the streaming app from ITV that offers catch-up and on-demand shows and box-sets, will stop working on a few older Freeview devices, from September 28, 2022. This is due to ITV upgrading their content protection technology, and ahead of ITV Hub being replaced by ITVX, the new streaming service from ITV.
The upgrade, however, is incompatible with some devices, mostly older Smart TVs, from brands such as Hisense, TCL, Panasonic and more (see the full list below). Last year, the same thing happened with a few older YouView boxes, when ITV Hub was no longer supported on them due to similar content protection upgrades.
Update: ITV Hub is also being removed from the Freesat Humax boxes, from many older Samsung TVs, and from two popular Humax Freeview recorders. 
ITV Hub is normally available on a large number of streaming devices like the Amazon Fire TV and Roku, as well as on Freeview Play boxes and TVs, and connected Freesat set-top boxes. The app relies on broadband, and you can use it to stream ITV’s live channels, or to watch programmes on demand. 
The plan is for the ITVX app to be available on every device that currently supports ITV Hub (as well as some new ones such as Sky Q), but devices that will stop supporting ITV Hub, will also not support ITVX when it launches.
Why can’t my TV get ITVX?
ITVX, the new streaming service from ITV that’s replacing ITV Hub, is finally rolling out to Freeview Play devices – which means millions across the country now have access to it. However, due to some last-minute issues, a few popular Freeview Play devices – such as the Manhattan T3 and T3-R, won’t be getting the new ITVX app for a few more weeks. 
Since its “soft” launch on November 17, ITVX has been gradually rolling out to various devices – streaming sticks like Roku, certain Smart TVs, the newer Freesat boxes, and even Sky Glass and Sky Stream, But with the “official” ITVX launch date, December 8, coming and going – Freeview users had to wait longer than most – with some having to now wait even further. 
The Netgem Netbox 4K On some devices, the ITV Hub icon is still showing, with ITVX launching when you actually run the app (I’ve seen that on the Humax Aura, for example) – but that will eventually get fixed (there’s another confusing ITVX issue on the Humax Aura – see more on that below).
As we previously reported, some older Freeview Play devices, including the popular Humax FVP-5000T and the Humax FVP-4000T – will NOT be getting ITVX at all, as the software on these devices is simply too old to accommodate the new app. Some older TVs – such as Samsung Smart TVs from 2016 and back, won’t be getting ITVX either.
And, for now, it looks like ITVX isn’t available on YouView boxes yet – including on the new BT TV Pro 4K box.

Why has ITVX app disappeared from my TV?
News We are currently receiving a number of phone calls from customers asking, ‘Why can I no longer access ITV Hub?’ The answer is that ITV has moved their content from ITV Hub to its new streaming home, ITVX. The service will continue to enable streaming across multiple devices, including Android, iOS, Smart TVs and subscription boxes.

TVs losing access to apps is a recurrent situation. It is not just the ITV App that can vanish, sometimes customers can no longer find BBC iPlayer, Netflix or Spotify. The convenience of having live TV and catch-up services on one device with one remote is undeniable, but no App is a permanent fixture.
