Liability for the skip is with the person that hired the skip during the duration of the hire. Skips containing light household material can be filled one foot above the level.
Skips containing builder’s rubble such as soil, clay, bricks, stone or blocks can only be filled to a level load, this also includes all business skips, sizes 14cyd and above. The materials accepted depend on the type of skip hired. As a general rule, all skips hold non-hazardous waste including paper products, cardboard, ceramics, household waste, mixed metals, mixed recyclables, pottery and wood – with varied amounts of soil, construction and demolition waste.
