How much money do you need per day in Barbados?
1. Re: How much money for 1-week stay in Barbados? 11 years ago andriana 9 Welcome to the forum and thank you for choosing Barbados for your imminent holiday. To persons in your position, I normally recommend one budgets approximately $350 BBD a day for the two of you so that’s £55 per person roughly per day.
- This would cover breakfast, lunch and dinner and drinks.
- Some days you will spend less, some days you will spend more.
- For shopping, it depends on what you are looking for, but £100 is a good shopping budget.
- That’s about $315 BBD.
- That can cover some liquor and some souvenirs for yourself and friends.
For activities, it also depends on what you do. For catamarans I always recommend Cool Runnings and their lunch cruise is $180 BBD per person and runs from 9:30am to 2:30pm. Most attractions charge abour $20 to $30 BBD for entry. Therefore, $600 BBD would cover both of you well for the catamaran cruise, and perhaps entry to up to 4 of our tourist attractions during your stay.
Also, have a look at these approximate prices I’ve compiled below. In most bars you can purchase a beer for anywhere between $3-$7 depending on the location. Sodas / Juice = $2.50 to $4 Rum + Coke $8 Most cocktails $12-$20 depending on the location. Glass of Wine = $12 to $24 depending on the location Glass of Champagne = $30-$35 Bottle of wine = $60+ Bottle of Champagne = $120+ Food – Starters $18-$38 depending on restaurant Mains $45 to $95 generally, depending upon restaurant and what you order.
Items such as platters for two can run up to $140 Desserts $15 to $25 depending upon restaurant and what you order Fast Food $15 can get you two pieces of chicken, fries, biscuit and a drink from Chefette or KFC. $12.99 can get you a value meal from KFC (sandwich and fries or chicken strips and fries or three wings and fries etc) $33 can get you a whole pizza Rotis range from $6.75 to $10.25 Casual Dining Flying Fish Sandwich with Fries = $21 Burgers = $26-$32 Ribs Platter = $40 Chicken Platter = $32.95 All Prices Immediately Above are BBD, divide by 2 for the US, divide by 3 for £ Hope this helps and that the above figures will allow you to plan out a budget for yourself.
Also, don’t forget your miscellaneous items such as taxi fares and tipping etc. The taxi from the airport will be about $28 BBD if you don’t have excess luggage and just require a regular taxi. Bus fares are $2 BBD per person per ride and you are in a prime location to take the bus. Always remember a Visa or Mastercard for good measure.
