- Download the All4 streaming app on your smartphone from the Google Play Store or iOS App Store.
- After installing the app, launch it on your mobile device and sign in to your account.
- Choose your favorite program and hit the casting button.
- Your mobile device screen should now appear on your LG TV.
Now you can sit back and enjoy your favorite shows on the big screen.

End of service for the All 4 application on 2011 and 2012 Smart TVs From the 29th January 2021, the All 4 app will no longer be available on 2011 and 2012 Samsung smart TV models. This is due to recent technical changes which mean that it is no longer possible for Channel 4 to maintain the All 4 app on these devices.
However, All 4 will continue to be available on Samsung 2013 model TVs and above. If you own a 2011 or 2012 Samsung TV and still want to access the All 4 app, you can purchase a third-party streaming device such as an Amazon Firestick Lite, Roku, or Chromecast to regain access to UK catchup and other video on demand services.
Open Smart Hub on your TV. If the Smart Hub screen on your TV looks like the images below, then you will be unable to access the All 4 app. See the table below for more information about the specific models affected.

MOBILE DATA – What does ‘Mobile data’ mean? Mobile data is an internet source – such as GPRS, Edge, 2G, 3G or 4G – supplied by your mobile phone provider. Mobile data does not include WiFi. The amount of mobile data available to you will vary based on your mobile contract and is usually limited to a certain number of gigabytes of data each month.
Please check the exact amount with your mobile service provider. Is all All 4 content available to stream over mobile data? Yes, you can stream all All 4 content that is available on Android over mobile data. What does ‘streaming over mobile data’ mean? When your phone is connected over mobile data (GPRS, Edge, 2G, 3G or 4G) and you click ‘Play’ on any All 4 video, that video will play (‘stream’) over mobile data, thereby consuming some of your mobile data allowance.
Can I download over mobile data (3G/4G)? No, at present this is not possible. Programmes can only be downloaded via WiFi. However, if you start downloading over WiFi and switch to mobile data, the download will pause and resume when you connect to WiFi again.

- Will I be charged to stream over mobile data? All 4 is a free service and won’t charge you for streaming over mobile data.
- However, you may incur service charges from your mobile data provider if you exceed your data allowance.
- How can I disable mobile data streaming? You can disable mobile data in Android by going to the Data usage section in Settings and turning Mobile data to OFF.

What app is All 4 on?
Channel 4 – One App, Many Names – “Channel 4 Online” started as the Channel Four Television Corporation’s first online platform, offering British viewers an extra layer of media experience, which was meant to complement the channel’s linear version. Photo: Deposit Photos / TKKurikawa Users in those early days were able to stream TV shows along with ‘bonus’ behind-the-scenes footage and other exclusive materials, using advanced technologies (at the time) such as Adobe Flash Player (remember that?).
The platform underwent a significant change in 2006, evolving from Channel 4 Online to 4oD (4 on Demand), a name remembered fondly by many.4oD was envisioned as a comprehensive video-on-demand platform, enabling users to access a vast majority of Channel 4’s content for free. Like the channel itself, the streaming platform was funded by advertising, allowing viewers to enjoy most of the content without having to pay more.
New content and extensive archives were made available for streaming, attracting a growing audience in both the UK and Ireland. Then, in 2015, 4oD changed its name again – this time to All4. An optional paid subscription was also added eventually, All4+, which allows users to stream the app’s content without adverts. All4 All4, which includes both catch-up content and full box-sets from Channel 4’s archives, is available on most of the leading streaming devices sold in the UK, such as Amazon’s Fire TV, Roku, Freeview Play and more. Sadly, the All4 / Channel 4 app is STILL not available on Freesat’s connected boxes, having left them back in 2018.

“All 4 coming to Fire TV is another huge win for our customers,” said Jorrit Van der Meulen, Vice President, Amazon Devices EU. “Since we launched Fire TV we’ve constantly increased the selection of apps, and All 4 adds free access to some of the best British TV programming of the last 30 years.

Its public ownership and not-for-profit status ensure all profit generated by its commercial activity is directly reinvested back into the delivery of its public service remit.
As a publisher-broadcaster, Channel 4 is also required to commission UK content from the independent production sector and currently works with around 400 creative companies across the UK every year. In addition to the main Channel 4 service, its portfolio includes: E4, More4, Film4, 4Music, 4seven, Channel4.com and digital service All 4.
Where is More 4 on TV?
Channel number: 18 More4 brings you lifestyle and history documentaries, an insight into the royals and British life, plus US dramas and the finest foreign language shows from Walter Presents.
Is All 4 available in Europe?
The Channel 4 streaming platform (previously known as All 4) is the place to stream TV shows and movies that air on the main TV channel, as well as on E4, More4, Film4 and 4Music. Channel 4 is only available to watch when you’re located within the UK borders because of the licensing issues related to the shows.
Why is All 4 only available in the UK?
This is because Channel 4’s content is geo-restricted in order to comply with UK distribution rights and copyright laws. Therefore, if you want to watch Channel 4 or the All 4 streaming service from outside the UK, you will need to use a VPN to connect to a UK server.
Why can’t I cast Channel 4 to my TV?
Streaming requires an internet connection that’s free of bottlenecks. However, the internet isn’t a direct pipeline from the source to you. Streamed content passes through many other computers on its way to your PC via your ISP. If any one of them is carrying too much other traffic, the streamed content may be interrupted and pause.
- Our streamed content is ‘buffered’ to help prevent such problems, but sometimes delays are unavoidable.
- Usually the delay only lasts a few seconds, and the stream picks up where it stopped.
- Streaming problems are more likely to occur on a slow computer or device that has a smaller memory and processing power.
Even with a fast computer or device, if you have too many applications open it could slow down your media streaming. If you notice things are sluggish, close all unnecessary applications and windows on your computer or device. The faster your network connection (modem, cable, DSL) and computer speed (in megahertz), the higher the quality of the stream.
In order to stream content it has to be quite heavily compressed. Unfortunately this process does result in some degradation of picture quality, particularly when watched in full screen mode. It may be that your Google Chromecast device is disconnected, or not on the same wi-fi network. Check that the device is correctly plugged in and also on the same network.
To disconnect from Google Chromecast, simply click the Cast button in the browser bar or in the player and then select STOP. We will save the resume point when you disconnect from Google Chromecast, whilst the expanded controls are open. This means you can resume watching the episode on your local device.
